Team Dynamics Customer Racing team sees themselves competing in the 2023 Club Enduro Championship under the banner of Stockford Anderson.
The team have specially prepared the Audi TCR to compete in this endurance championship for proud sponsors Stockford Anderson. The Audi TCR has had numerous modifications to allow Matthew to drive using a road derived hand control method whilst still allowing full use of the pedals. Follow the season below.
British Endurance Championship – Donington GP
Stockford Anderson – backed Audi RS3 entered the competitive Invitational Class F, facing formidable opponents such as BMW GTRs, Ginetta G55 Supercups, and V8 Jaguar F Types. However, adverse weather conditions played to the advantage of the front-wheel-drive Audi.
During the qualifying session, the track was treacherously damp and slippery. After navigating some demanding laps, drivers Matthew Stockford and Alyn James secured the car in the 18th overall position, and somewhat surprisingly, claimed the top spot in their class.
Throughout the day, the weather fluctuated dramatically, alternating between brilliant sunshine and ominous rain, with occasional hailstorms. This unpredictable weather kept the team on their toes, forcing them to continuously adapt their setup and race strategies.
Just as Matthew was about to commence the race, the rain intensified, resulting in streams running across the track and challenging conditions on the renowned Craner curves. The race began under safety car conditions, affording Matthew the opportunity to acclimate to the adverse weather conditions and seek the necessary grip for the upcoming race.
Once the two-hour race officially began, Matthew faced slower cars ahead, significant spray from the wet track, and, later in the stint, GT3 cars catching up. This presented a new challenge for Matthew in his rookie racing season, but he handled it with finesse, keeping the Team Dynamics Motorsport Ltd -prepared Audi on track and competitive for a podium finish.
At the one-hour mark, Matthew handed over the driving duties to Alyn James, and the team made the strategic decision to switch to slick tires, hoping that the track would continue to dry and thus eliminate the need for a pit stop later in the race.
This decision proved to be the right one, although the initial laps of Alyn’s stint were a bit turbulent as the track dried and confidence grew. The Audi steadily gained pace towards the end of the race, ultimately securing a highly commendable second place in their class, narrowly trailing behind the V8 Jaguar but comfortably ahead of the third and fourth positions.
The weekend proved to be both enjoyable and challenging for the entire team, as they navigated the ever-changing weather and fierce competition. The final round of the Club Enduro series is scheduled to take place shortly at Silverstone.
Round 5 – Donington GP
The Stockford Anderson race season continues with a short trip over to Donington.
The standard Club Enduro format was made a little more complicated with a wet and changeable qualifying conditions. Alyn James and Matthew Stockford managed to keep the car pointing the right way and qualified in 15th position. The team knew this wasn’t where the pace of the car should be but happy to finish qualifying in one piece and not fall foul of the weather like a few of the other competitors.
There was a long break in the day until race time, but this gave the team time to make changes to the setup and for the track to dry out.
Matthew started the race amongst a very fast and close racing group. This did delay him getting to the front runners but provided some excellent racing and race craft experience. With getting quicker and quicker through his stint and keeping himself away from incidents happening around him, this allowed the Stockford Anderson Audi RS3 TCR to move up from 15th to 10th before the hour mark. Matthew continued to push hard right up to the driver change over at half way and for Alyn James to take over the reins.
The weather remained dry but there was the constant threat of spicing things up by dropping some rain, the team remained focused and ready to react to any changes.
The dry running allowed Alyn to set some fast laps and catch up with the front runners. Then followed 30 minutes of close racing that kept moving the team further up the grid. The Stockford Anderson Audi finished the race in a very credible P6 overall and only 2/10ths from P5.
With every event the team and drivers are learning more about the car and improving each time.
The team will be taking the next step in endurance racing by having an invitational entry into the British Endurance Championship on the 14th October. This will be moving back onto slicks and racing alongside the GTs and powerhouses of British Endurance Racing.
The final Club Enduro round is Silverstone on the 29th October.
Round 4 – Snetterton
The excitement continued on Sunday, August 13th, as the second half of the Tegiwa Club Enduro Championship kicked off at the picturesque Snetterton circuit in Norfolk. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect – a warm and sunny day that set the stage for a thrilling two hour race with a large grid of over 35 cars lining up.
Qualifying was difficult, due to the presence of the safety car, but our team remained undeterred. Despite this challenge, we secured 13th spot on the starting grid, ready to prove our mettle in the upcoming race.
The race itself unfolded into an exhilarating two-hour battle, filled with challenges. Yet, the spirit of the team shone through, turning every difficulty into an opportunity for success. In the first hour, Matthew Stockford expertly maneuvered the car up through the order, climbing from 13th to an impressive 10th position at the handover point. Round 3 – Oulton
The Club Enduro series held its latest round at Oulton Park, Cheshire on 3 June, which featured perfect weather conditions with a hot and sunny day along with a dry track.
However, qualifying for the race proved to be challenging due to multiple crashes that saw the deployment of the safety car and a Red Flag. During qualifying, the Stockford Anderson sponsored Audi TCR race car, driven by Matthew Stockford and Alyn James, sustained damage when another competitor attempted to make a manoeuvre in a non-existent gap. With this setback and limited running, the team managed to qualify in 19th position for the race.
The 2-hour race was filled with incidents, near misses, including several major accidents and a fire that required additional safety car periods. In the highly competitive race, the Stockford Anderson car endured two more impacts. However, through their skill and determination, the team managed to make impressive progress from 19th place and ultimately finished in 6th position. This marked their best result in the Club Enduro series so far.
The next race for the team will be at Snetterton in August, as there is now a break in the series. Currently, the team is in 5th place overall in the series standings, with three rounds remaining. This positions them well for a strong finish and a chance to improve their standings.
The Stockford Anderson car receives excellent support and maintenance from Team Dynamics Motorsport Ltd customer racing, ensuring its performance and reliability on the track.

As the afternoon rolled in, the race commenced under clear skies, but nature had other plans. Strong winds and rain cascaded down, transforming the track into a treacherous surface.
